To obtain this membership, youth will attend an orientation class to learn how to use appropriate cardio machines (stationary bikes, treadmills, cross trainers, etc.) and Nautilus strength training machines for upper body, lower body and abdominal strengthening based on individual size and maturity. Youth are invited to get their Youth Fitness Membership (Y.F.M.) which will allow them to use the Fitness Center any time during staffed hours when they present their Y.F.M. Youth are trained how to use youth-appropriate cardio and Nautilus machines. YOUTH FITNESS TRAINING ORIENTATION (Y.F.M.) Learn how to navigate the Fitness Center weight room and appropriately use the the variety of equipment available to you such as dumbbells, cable crossover, olympic benches, power racks, leg press, and more. Suggested activities may include various cardiovascular and weight training options, appropriate fitness classes, journal keeping and more. Your trainer will suggest activities that you can try and help you make a fitness plan. Meet with a Y Personal Fitness Trainer and discuss your fitness goals. PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINING ORIENTATIONĪ session with a Y Personal Fitness Trainer You will be coached on how to properly set up the machines and perform the exercises safely and effectively.
